project documentation

27.7.16

Last term we started a new project based on technology, art and music, basing on these we need to make something that fit in the common to solve some of our problems. First we got into groups that matched our interests and then come up some ideas that might work.  Our group was making the lap desk. Then the teachers choose some good ideas that might work for the common, after the teachers have choosed we had a chance to change groups, so I went to the picnic blankets group. Today we started to plan out the calendar and timeline that has when all the meetings will and when/what is going to be finished.

28.7.16

Today we didn’t do much, I started to design some patterns for the picnic blankets and the rest of our group was planning the calendar and writing the survey. We shared our work and and next step with the Korean students it was hard to communicate but we managed to do it. It was a really fun time sharing with them.

29.7.16

Today we finished the draft for the survey. Then Nicola and Mea went around the school to see if they liked it but the information wasn’t enough so they came back with nothing. It was good that we got the draft done, next time we could get the real one finished.

1.8.16
Today we did some of our designs for the picnic blankets,we came up with about 5-6 designs  and some of them seemed realistic and some did not, and we had a new person joining our group today it was Luna. The designs were really hard to make because we have to see if it is makeable and will everyone like this, I think this is a great challenge for our group .

5.8.16
Today we have started looking over the results from the survey and analysing our results and figuring out what we were going to do from what we had so far. We started working on our shopping list and what we needed to buy for this, it was kind of hard to know what to buy since our group hasn't fully got our plan on how we are actually going to make our picnic blankets and what we are going to use. Below is our survey results so far

Making crème brûlée

On Saturday we went to Albany mall. We were in a cooking shop and we  decided to get a new blow torch (because our old one broke in the earthquake). So we bought that and when got home we thought we could  make a creme brulee  using our new torch (on Sunday when we had more time) . On Sunday morning after we had breakfast Dad and I started looking for recipes,We found a Jamie Oliver one that seemed good, also knowing that Jamie Oliver is a highly recommended good cook.

We then had to get all of the ingredients ready to start making the crème brûlée. On Saturday we had gone to the supermarket and bought some thickened cream because we know that you need that in all creme brulee. After we got all the ingredients ready we started following the recipe to make the creme part of the Brulee .after we had done that we had to put it in the oven and let it cook. Once it had cooked we had to cool it in the fridge for a while and later on that night we got the raw sugar and sprinkled that over the top of the creme  and used our new blow torch to create the Brulee, this is the melted sugar topping.

just letting you know it was so delicious and I loved it so much I could eat a whole tub of it probably not in one-night but over time!
